Joshua Sofaer is the first Thinker in Residence at Performance Space, Carriageworks, Sydney. During the ‘Exchange’ season he will be working with staff, associates, partner institutions as well as the wider Sydney arts scene, to explore how an artist might take the lead in proposing cultural exchange.

Joshua is the first Artist Fellow on the Clore Leadership Programme in the UK and this residency in Sydney forms part of his exploration of the role of the artist as leader.

At the end of his month in Sydney, Joshua will present a series of proposals, some practical, others poetic, which will offer an artist’s response to cultural exchange in Sydney.
