Your Name Here
Who would you name a park after?
A new participatory artwork by Joshua Sofaer for the people of St Helens, Merseyside.
Your Name Here is the opportunity to nominate someone to be commemorated permanently by having a park in St Helens named after them.
Anyone from anywhere in the world can enter but we would like to receive nominations that have a connection to St Helens.
After the competition closes on 26th June 2015, a panel of judges will choose a winner from the names and reasons submitted.
The newly named park will be officially revealed in late Summer 2015. It will remain permanently in place for all to see, becoming part of the fabric of the town and its maps.
As well as letting us know the name you propose, you should tell us why in up to 150 words.
If you want, you can also send us a portrait of that person, or a biography or story that you have written about them. It could be writing, a picture, a photograph, a video, a sound recording, a sculpture, or even a found object. We want to build a portrait of the people of St Helens and will display some of the entries in an exhibition.
Nominations must reach us no later than 26th June 2015.
You can enter online at www.winyournamehere.co.uk or by post or in person.
