One Grain

One object, 31 days, and a world of possibilities.

10 am – 4 pm
1st – 31st July 2016
Bewdley Museum, Load Street, Bewdley DY12 2AE

One Grain is a participative research project at the old Brass Foundry in Bewdley Museum and we want to get you involved. One object from the museum collections will be investigated everyday during July by a team of volunteers, visitors, staff, and invited experts.

Starting with a tiny apothecaries weight, a ‘one grain’ brass measure forged in the Exley foundry that now forms part of the museum, we will work together to build a giant biography of a single object. At the end of the month of research, we will transform the findings into an exhibition.

So come along to Bewdley Museum this July and help us follow leads, pursue hunches, and find out all we can, starting with this ‘one grain’ weight.

Book in for a session with the Tourist Information Centre in person, or by contacting 0845 607 7819 bewdleymuseum@wyreforestdc.gov.uk, or just drop by when you have time, to learn what we have discovered.

One Grain is a commission by artist Joshua Sofaer for Bewdley Museum. Animation and graphic design by Annlin Chao.
